About

My name is Jaid Sagadraca. I am a certified Ontario teacher for kindergarten to grade 6. I have taught English in Taipei, Taiwan at Guang Ren Elementary School for three years. I planned, created, and implemented lessons based on the Ontario curriculum for grade 1 and 2. It is there that I learned the value and skills for positive collaboration, and culturally-relevant teaching practices.

I graduated from the University of Toronto (OISE) with a Master in Teaching in the Primary and Junior division. My time in the program allowed me to develop my teaching philosophy and skills to create an inclusive and student-centred learning environment. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Studies from Toronto Metropolitan University (formally known as Ryerson University). In addition, I have experience with children in a wide variety of settings including elementary schools, preschools, Ontario Early Years Centre, and in Bahamas at Every Child Counts School for Children with Special Needs. Currently, I volunteer at Centennial Infant and Child Centre, where I am supporting a child as they go through the program.

During my free time I enjoy reading books in  cafes, playing tabletop games with friends and family, and watching classic and new movies. I also enjoy learning how to cook, and I am in the midst of mastering chocolate chip cookies. I currently reside in the Greater Toronto Area. I can be contacted at jaid.sagadraca@gmail.com.
