Project Approach

Date: February 2014 – March 2014
Location: Ryerson University and Participant’s Home
Age of Child: 7 years old

Description:

Over the course of two months I planned and implemented a project approach based on the child’s interest of sewing. The activities supported the child’s cognitive development as well as further developing her fine motor skills. As a conclusion I wrote a paper based on the experience and presented the outcomes to fellow students and professor.

Significance:

This was the first time I was completely responsible for the implementation and outcome of the activities. I learned how to take a child’s interest and abilities and direct it towards other domains.
